Organization Background
The Hamilton Sports Group is responsible for the operation of the fifteen-time Grey Cup Champion Hamilton Tiger-Cats along with the two-time CPL Champions Forge FC.

In November, the 110th Grey Cup and 2023 Grey Cup Festival will take place in Hamilton. Hamilton Sports Group, parent company of the CFL?s Hamilton Tiger-Cats and CPL?s Forge Football Club, is seeking a Coordinator, Marketing and Communications, to help the organisation achieve its business objectives and create a memorable experience for Canadian sports fans from coast to coast.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, and indirectly to the Associate Vice President ? Brand, Content & Communications, the Coordinator will provide support on all marketing and communications initiatives relating to the hosting of the 110th Grey Cup and 2023 Grey Cup Festival. This includes, but is not limited to, planning and executing paid owned and earned media initiatives, coordinating creative development and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. As well, the Coordinator will collaborate cross-functionally with various internal teams (creative, events and operations, corporate partnerships, community relations, etc.) and external teams (CFL, agencies, etc.) to perform various tasks.

Note: The successful candidate must reside within 45 minutes of Tim Hortons Field and be able to work in the office five days per week. Hybrid work arrangements will not be possible. Some evening and weekend work may be required at Hamilton Tiger-Cats home games and community events in the Hamilton area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and track the development and approval of creative assets and ensure their timely dissemination to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage strategy and content development for all 2023 Grey Cup Festival social media platforms
  • Write content and copy for owned media platforms including 2023 Grey Cup Festival website, app, audio network, e-mail, stadium videoboard as well as for media

communication (news releases, media advisories, etc.), and paid media platforms (print, radio, social media
  • Support pageantry development by tracking the production and installation of various assets
  • Facilitate community engagement initiatives by collaborating internally with Community Relations to coordinate community event appearances and externally with organisations (e.g. BIA) to provide information and assets
  • Collaborate with the corporate partnerships department to execute promotion and cross-promotion initiatives involving festival partners, Hamilton Tiger-Cats partners and media partners
  • Collaborate with the Tiger-cats communications team to generate earned media including developing story ideas, updating of media contact lists and executing media pitches
  • Ensure all content and application of 2023 Grey Cup Festival and 110th Grey Cup marks is aligned with brand guidelines
  • Liaise with CFL officials to provide creative, information and progress updates
  • Perform other tasks as assigned


Essential Skills and Competencies
  • 1-2 years of experience in sport business with a sport property or event organization
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business Administration or Sport Management preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience planning content strategy and creating content for social media platforms - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube - for professional and/or personal use
  • Experience using Wordpress and writing content for websites and other online platforms (e.g. app)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook) and shared drives (Sharepoint)
