Indigenous Recruitment plays a key role in supporting the goals of Braiding through how we recruit prospective Indigenous learners.
Position
This exciting and diverse position will be responsible for coordinating Indigenous recruitment across Treaty 6, 7, 8 and the North on behalf of the University of Alberta. This position is focused on executing the Indigenous recruitment strategy, growing relationships with Indigenous communities, developing tactical Indigenous recruitment plans and maintaining pathways between high schools and post-secondary institutions including Tribal Colleges. This position is a key connector in the Indigenous recruitment community, driving collaboration and support for recruitment initiatives institution-wide. Currently reporting to the Associate Registrar, the Indigenous Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for the tactical dissemination of information and effective promotion of the University of Alberta to prospective First Nations, Metis, and Inuit learners.
Travel within Alberta and overtime is required in this position, which includes driving a University of Alberta fleet vehicle to local, rural and on reserve recruitment events. The hours of work for this position may be varied, including a requirement to work evenings and weekends.
