Work ArrangementsThis is a limited term Faculty Coordinator position with 2 sections of release. This position is limited term due to extraordinary government funding, with plans to extend the position (not confirmed) following the March 31 2025 completion time. Position is at Coquitlam Campus. While preparatory work may be completed remotely the individual in this position is expected to attend at Coquitlam Campus on a regular basis.

The RoleThe faculty member in this position is responsible for the development of experiential and learning pathways opportunities for the Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing and Health Information Management programs. The person in this role will work with the Project Lead Learning Pathways Coordinator (BSN/BSPN) to assess and develop potential future learning pathways for BSPN and HIM students.\xc2\xb7 responsibility to seek and implement collegial decisions\xc2\xb7 authority to act on emergency issues requiring a decision, pending collegial resolution of the issue\xc2\xb7 responsibility to implement collegial decisions
ResponsibilitiesSpecific Responsibilities:\xc2\xb7\xc2\xb7 Assess, develop, and implement a strategic plan in consultation with Departments regarding Learning Pathway opportunities\xc2\xb7 Coordinate along with term faculty the experiential booking, scheduling, and monitoring of the experiential actor experience in BSPN\xc2\xb7 In collaboration with the Project Lead: Program Coordinator Health Sciences Learning Pathways assist in identifying new pathways opportunities for BSPN and Health Information Management.\xc2\xb7 Identify and liaise with all relevant internal college resources regarding input to pathways programs, utilizing data to determine development and progression of pathways programs.\xc2\xb7 Liaise with faculty members to identify opportunities and challenges related to pathways programs\xc2\xb7 Liaise with external partners including government and clinical agencies regarding the potential future development of pathways in regard to resources and operational considerations for pathways programs\xc2\xb7 Assist Program Coordinator Learning Pathways as needed in attending partner meeting (government, internal) and Chair meetings when required.\xc2\xb7 Educate students on potential pathways programs and assess interest to develop future priority programs in alignment with college and government priorities\xc2\xb7 Assist Program Coordinator Health Sciences Learning Pathways with marketing and recruitment activities as appropriate and available.\xc2\xb7 Provide education to potential program partners (internal and external) on pathways programs\xc2\xb7 Contribute to the development of recruitment, selection and evaluation processes to determine the effectiveness of pathways programs\xc2\xb7 Participate with Program Coordinator Learning Pathways on internal and external committees on the review of pathways programs including the provision of feedback and revisions for future development\xc2\xb7 Provide and annual report for Health Sciences on Learning Pathways activity and outcomes with future recommendations/goals.\xc2\xb7 Attends if Program Coordinator Learning Pathways is not available to provincial committees as a Douglas College representative on learning pathways\xc2\xb7 Assists with agreed upon evaluation procedures for pathways program and report out to relevant administrators and committees as needed.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need\xc2\xb7 Master\'s Degree required; Doctorate /PhD preferred.\xc2\xb7 Current registration in good standing with BCCNM as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Registered Nurse\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 2 to 3 years of recent post-secondary (or equivalent) teaching experience in a BSPN program. Knowledge of Health Information Management programs desired. Experience with learning pathways programs an advantage.\xc2\xb7 A minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in the health sector as a clinical nurse.\xc2\xb7 Leadership or coordination experience desirable.\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated understanding of the broad context of health science education in British Columbia relative to graduate entry in one or more professions.\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated understanding of project management with a preference for intersectional management.\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated knowledge/ability of curriculum development with the capacity to learn to write documents for educational governance.\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated organizational skills.\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to take on projects on own initiative, consulting as required\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to network effectively with internal and external stakeholders relevant to learning pathways\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated effective positive interpersonal and networking skills, including teamwork and conflict resolution skills.\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to interact positively with students in providing information related to career pathways\xc2\xb7 Demonstrates an understanding of cultural safety and humility in the context of health sciences education\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of or an ability to develop a knowledge of the Bachelor of BSN and BSPN programs (all years)\xc2\xb7 Represents the values, goals and philosophy of the Health Sciences faculty, and Douglas College.
