We invite you to use your skills with us and contribute to something meaningful and enduring.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Coordinator, Facilities to join our Integrated Operations Planning Team in Sudbury. This is a full time on site permanent position.The Coordinator, Facilities is responsible to manage multiple functions of building operations / maintenance for six buildings of varying complexity, from corporate office setting, Green house, vacant buildings. The incumbent develops and recommends strategic facility management objectives and ensures facility operations comply with local, provincial and federal regulations. Assists, prepares and manages departmental budgetAdditionally, in this position you will:

  • Direct and facilitate contracts for building support services (e.g. cleaning, security, landscaping, etc.) ensuring vendors act in a responsible and safe manner, comply with contractual obligations and Vales policies and procedures.
  • Ensure building support services are operating safely, effectively and efficiently, while providing regular reviews for continual improvement to cost, quality, service and delivery. Communicate regarding emergency preparedness plans, site inspections, and audits.
  • Provide construction coordination for Capital and Operating projects (Coordinate) and Perform Kick Off Meetings and Process Hazard Reviews with contractors (Service Giving) along with monitoring contractor work approvals, site access, quality, efficiency, qualifications and safety (Monitor)
  • Review, validate and approve Contractor Time Sheets, sign off on Contractor Invoices that services have been received and understand the scope of the contract to ensure the proper contract/contractor is utilized before scheduling a contractor in to perform work (Coordinate)
  • Focal-point for vendor coordination and purchasing of materials and services for Office Facilities (e.g. assist other team members with scheduling and/or purchasing requirements) and maintains and replenish inventory of office supplies and printer for the building
About YouEducation:
  • Post secondary diploma or certificate in Business, Building Maintenance, or related field.
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential or equivalent.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 18-24 months of building maintenance experience.
  • General knowledge of technical aspects of running a building (plumbing, electrical, HVAC,etc) to access work proposals
Skills:
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet/internet
  • Good communication skills to manage diverse cultures and multiple levels of management
  • Collaboration and strong relationship building skills
  • Change Management skills and experience
