Job Description


The Registrar\'s Office (RO) is a large, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Associate Director, Enrolment Service Operations, the incumbent is responsible for the management of the daily operations of the Enrolment Service Centre (ESC) on the Agricultural Campus, a service location that combines the functions of the Registrar\'s Office, Student Accounts, and the DalCard Office.
Key Responsibilities

  • Create exceptional customer service by ensuring that the delivery of all information and services align with the service model, plans and values of the Registrar\'s Office.
  • Oversee enrolment functions of the ESC to ensure accurate processing of student records, student loans, confirmation of enrolments and transcripts as well as oversee effective management of financial transactions, including serving as the campus cashier.
  • Provide advice and guidance on registrarial issues relating to scheduling, exams, grading, and academic regulations. Act as a resource in relation to areas such as grade changes, academic waivers, complex eligibility letters, parchment replacements.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Registrar\'s Office to coordinate and ensure the accurate maintenance of academic records and information.
  • Develop procedures to guide the outcomes of the ESC, ensuring alignment with policies, regulations, and the strategic priorities of the Registrar\'s Office. Implement appropriate measures and controls to guarantee a high level of accuracy in all aspects of the ESC.
  • Hire, supervise and support NSGEU and student employees, including delivering a comprehensive on-boarding program for new team members. Ensure that the core values of the Registrar\'s Office are a focus in all areas of work.

Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree, plus a minimum of three to five years\' related experience in a post-secondary environment (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Knowledge of enrolment management practices and student information systems.
  • Experience supporting applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and point of sales.
  • Proven organizational and problem solving skills in a high volume environment with tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Assets
  • Experience in customer service and staff supervision.
  • Experience in academic records and information management.
  • Experience in Banner.
