Your Opportunity:Join our dedicated Volunteer Resource & Patient and Provider Experience Team at the University of Alberta Hospital group (UAH), which includes the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, the Kaye Edmonton Clinics and Stollery. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Program Coordinator within our Volunteer Resources Program where you will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and community leaders to ensure the effective involvement of volunteers, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the delivery of healthcare services.Description:The Volunteer Resource Coordinator will utilize their expertise in program coordination and volunteer management processes. Inclusive of recruitment, selection, screening, placement, orientation, recognition, evaluation, and administration, will be essential to your success in this role. You will also cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and community leaders to ensure the effective involvement of volunteers, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the delivery of healthcare services. The coordinator is also responsible for: The successful incumbent will support an environment that fosters teamwork, cooperation, respect, and diversity, and demonstrate and supports commitment to AHS/UAH values, goals, and vision. Ensure a positive, productive, and collaborative environment where volunteers play key roles in patient and provider experience and in every interaction with hospital visitors. Ensuring an adequate volunteer pool is maintained through the volunteer management cycle: interviewing, selection, screening, and retention. Providing volunteer programs that meet the acceptable standard of practice and support the vision, mission and values of the department and organization. Coordination of specific patient programs/services and retail programming. Fiscal accountability over the assigned volunteer programming. Planning for continual improvement of volunteer involvement through facilitation and feedback from volunteers, staff, and clients regarding the quality and value of service. Monitoring and evaluating volunteer practices in assigned volunteer programs within the facility and community to ensure they meet the needs and objectives of staff, volunteers, and clients.

Required Qualifications:Leadership experience of 3-5 years in a volunteer service environment with an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is preferred (healthcare experience an asset). A post-secondary degree in Volunteer Resources/Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Management in Human and Social Services or an equivalent of experience, education, and training may be considered. Previous supervisory experience. Personal volunteer experience is required. A demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint required. Able to utilize volunteer management software (e.g. Better Impact or equivalent).
Additional Required Qualifications:Experience as a team member in project planning, execution, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation. Demonstrated ability to facilitate change. Knowledge and skills in problem solving and concerns resolution. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective communicator with strong organizational skills, influential skills, and client focused orientation and commitment to providing quality services. Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders to respond to standard requests and relay information. Proven ability to foster partnerships and to achieve organizational goals within a large, diverse organization and managing within a unionized environment. A demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development.
