1. Supervision, Leadership and Staff Developmentxc2xb7 Recruit, train, manage, coach and provide guidance to promote effective full and part time employee relations and encourage increased moral, innovation and productivity to meet business needsxc2xb7 Form action plan to ensure program quality assurancexc2xb7 Manage adherence to governing legislations and regulations; corporate policies, procedures, standards and guidelinesxc2xb7 Evaluate training needs, and manage execution of staff trainings, orientations and meetingsxc2xb7 Ensure current self-knowledge of technical skills for staff development,2. Administrationxc2xb7 Review documentation of incident/accidents reports and manage follow-up accordingly, applying appropriate follow-up actions and guidance with teams, volunteers and customers; modifying programs and services to ensure safely operating programs and services.xc2xb7 Prepare reports for Recreation Supervisor which may include the collection and analysis of data, customer satisfaction, revenue and expenses, etc.xc2xb7 Manage and review daily, weekly and sessional statistics and checklistsxc2xb7 Manage membership extensions, suspensions and payroll verificationxc2xb7 Adherence to all mandated deadlinesxc2xb7 Participation in facility teamxe2x80x99s quality assurance programxc2xb7 Coordinate payments/documentation for all invoices in accordance to corporate standards3. Customer Service and Community Developmentxc2xb7 Continuous improvement of customer experience through anticipating, managing and resolving concerns, requests inquires and successesxc2xb7 Liaise with community leaders, groups, sponsors and external groupsxc2xb7 Ongoing assessment of community needsxc2xb7 Manage community events (including analyzing follow-up reports and debriefing)xc2xb7 Develop strategies to increase customer recruitment and retention4. Program Developmentxc2xb7 Report on trends and areas of growth including future opportunitiesxc2xb7 Manage quality programming through ongoing program visitsxc2xb7 Manage program development and brochure development processesxc2xb7 Form and implement action plans to meet targets and potential growthxc2xb7 Assist Recreation Supervisor with marketing and business planxc2xb7 Manage internal marketing of programs within community centre5. Budgetxc2xb7 Build revenue strategies to increase financial stabilityxc2xb7 Collect, coordinate, analyze, monitor and report budget submissions, actuals and forecast to Supervisorxc2xb7 Manage current budget of expenditures related to program area ensure budget compliance meet necessary sign offs and approvalsSELECTION CRITERIA:EDUCATION:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma preferably in related field (i.e. Gerontology, Recreation & Leisure, Kinesiology, Physical Education)
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in recreation programming and/or facility management
OTHER SKILLS AND ASSETS:
  • Excellent public relations skills and ability to effectively deal with the public
  • One year supervisory/team lead experience working with staff and volunteers
  • Knowledge of provincial and other legislative regulations pertinent to program discipline
  • Exposure to budgeting and financial management
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Able to work variable, scheduled hours including evenings and weekends
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR-C
  • Valid Ontario non-probationary Class G Driverxe2x80x99s License and have access to a vehicle
