Status: 1 Regular Full Time

Salary Range: $65,480 to $81,849per annum (plus comprehensive benefits)

Location: 10 Peel Centre, Drive, Brampton

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Finance plays an integral role in delivering targeted strategies and outcomes aimed at advancing departmental business priorities and corporate vision and mission. Our mandate is enabling success through financial stewardship and business partnership.

What you will do in this role:

In this role, you will be reporting to the Supervisor, Corporate Reporting and Receivables. As the Bank Reconciliation Coordinator, you will be responsible for reconciling all of Peel Region and Peel Housing bank accounts. While also be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring all bank accounts are reconciled monthly on a timely basis and follow-up on any discrepancies
  • Act as a liaison between the Region and the banks to resolve errors and retrieve the information required
  • Download daily bank activity and cashed cheques
  • Reconcile cashed cheques in ERP system
  • Place stop payments on cheques
  • Coding of Summary Receipts & Deposits
  • Monitoring electric funds transfer (EFT) advice mailbox, distributing EFT remittances and coding EFT payments
  • Maintaining petty cash records, ensuring all funds are supported with an up to date confirmation and reconciled to general ledger
  • Performing surprise Petty Cash audits and providing training for new Petty Cash Custodians
  • Preparing and entering journal entries
  • Reconciliation of other general ledger accounts
What the role requires:
  • High school diploma plus at least 1 year post-secondary education in a finance or accounting field. A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience, particularly in finance
Skills/Abilities:
  • Effective knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials is a definite asset
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Effective analytical skills and attention to detail is required
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Work Mode & Job Location: In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 10 Peel Centre, Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
