This is a paid Co-op placement from January to April 2026, and you may work in a location in BC, AB, SK, or MB. Accommodation will be provided.
What You'll Do
Work alongside experienced Survey Party Chiefs on a variety of survey projects.
Learn to operate GPS and other advanced survey equipment.
Operate ATVs, UTV, snowmobile, company truck, jackhammer, pipe locators.
Assist with staking, boundary marking, and locating survey evidence in the field.
Record and manage field data with precision and care.
Maintain equipment and vehicles while learning best practices in field logistics.
Travel to remote locations and experience the diversity of Western Canada terrain.
Contribute to a safety-first culture and learn industry-standard safety protocols.
What You'll Learn
Surveying techniques used in oil and gas development.
How to interpret plans, legal boundaries, and topographic data.
Field data collection
Equipment handling, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Teamwork, communication, and problem-solving in real-world conditions.
What You Bring
Currently enrolled in surveying, geomatics or related programs.
Strong willingness to learn the methods, technology, equipment, and tools used in field surveys.
Valid Class 5 driver's license and willingness to travel.
Physical fitness that allows you to lift, push, pull, walk, stand with items up to 50 lbs.
Comfort working outdoors in all conditions and all types of terrains and environments.
A positive attitude, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.
Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol test.
