Overview

Are you interested in applying your talents and knowledge and gaining valuable experience to support worker health and safety? Working on our I&T team is a unique opportunity to do work that matters. We provide a highly-collaborative environment where co-op students can learn, contribute and develop their skills working on challenging projects that help make a difference to the workers and employers of B.C. We are seeking a student to work in our Enterprise DevOps department for a four or eight month work term (extension is based on performance) starting January 2023.

This is a hybrid-based position, with on-site work required at least once a month.

What you'll do

As a Software Development Co-op student, you will:

  • Enhance and develop code in an agile environment using technologies like JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Angular 5+, C#, .Net, SQL.
  • Support the maintenance of applications by responding to production support and tickets.
  • Writing and maintaining test automation scripts using XUnit and NUnit.
  • Learn Agile methodology of DevOps tools, technologies, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and processes essential to the development of cloud applications.

  • Demonstrate knowledge with at least one of the programming languages or technologies mentioned above, while pursuing experience growth and development in large scale enterprise systems sustainment and development.
  • Can quickly learn and adapt to in a fast paced environment.
  • Be curious, receptive to learning and willing to ask questions.
Your experience and educational background:
  • Enrolled in a computer science or computer engineering related program.
  • 8 month co-op term preferred.
  • Previous co-op or relevant work experience in an office environment preferred.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Angular 5+, C#, .Net, SQL is preferred.
