Pay Range
: $22 - $32 per hour; depending on experience.
Summary of Responsibilities
Field Responsibilities:
Participate in construction quality control, including monitoring and materials testing in real-world field conditions.
Assist with the installation, calibration, and monitoring of instrumentation for various engineering projects.
Support QA/QC construction monitoring and drill monitoring activities.
Engage in site investigations and foundation inspections with experienced professionals.
Contribute actively to implementing and promoting safety protocols in fieldwork settings.
Laboratory Responsibilities:
Conduct lab testing on samples such as aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, following ASTM, AASHTO, and CSA Standards procedures.
Participate in the preparation, calibration, and maintenance of lab equipment to ensure safety and accuracy in all processes.
Document and report all testing procedures and results, maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Contribute to the lab team with field-based data, gaining exposure to both lab and field project requirements.
Qualifications:
Enrolled in Civil and Construction Engineering, Environmental Technology programs or other related fields of study.
Eagerness to learn and grow in a technical role.
Ability to collaborate in a team setting, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented, particularly in updating documentation and maintaining accurate information.
Valid driver's license with a clean record.
Physically able to perform fieldwork, including off-road driving in a 4x4 vehicle.
Strong commitment to safety and client site rules and regulations.
Working Conditions, Schedule, and Physical Requirements and General Requirements:
Legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis.
High School Diploma required.
Must be physically able to perform field work as required.
Successfully perform a Fit for Work and Drug and Alcohol test.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, with shifts often spanning 12 hours.
