Overview of the Role & Team
We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and dedicated professional to join our team in a Co-Op Program Coordinator role. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, dynamic self-starter who thrives in a multicultural, fast-paced environment, and dedicated and passionate for high customer service experience.
The Co-op Program Coordinator oversees the co-op program, connecting students with practical work experiences that complement their academic studies. They manage relationships with employers, help students prepare for placements through resume and interview support, and ensure that both students and workplaces meet program standards. They also monitor student progress, handle administrative reporting, and support career development, acting as the bridge between classroom learning and real-world employment opportunities.
The Candidate must have previous experience in administrative and client services role, attention to the details, excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities and Duties
Design, implement, and maintain the co-op program structure in alignment with academic curriculum and industry standards.
Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure program effectiveness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitor program performance and make improvements based on feedback and outcomes.
Identify, approach, and establish partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and industry professionals for co-op placements.
Maintain ongoing relationships with employers to ensure quality placements and positive experiences for students.
Negotiate placement agreements and clarify expectations regarding student responsibilities, work hours, and supervision.
Advise and guide students in preparing for co-op placements, including resume writing, cover letters, interview preparation, and professional behavior.
Assess students' skills, interests, and career goals to match them with suitable co-op opportunities.
Provide ongoing mentorship and support to students during their placements, addressing challenges or concerns.
Coordinate the scheduling of co-op placements in collaboration with students and employers.
Track student attendance, performance, and progress during placements.
Collect evaluations from employers and students to ensure learning objectives are being met.
Maintain accurate records of student placements, employer contacts, and program activities.
Prepare reports on program success, student performance, and placement outcomes for college administration.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and college policies.
Organize workshops, seminars, or networking events to enhance students' career readiness and industry connections.
Provide ongoing professional development opportunities and resources for both students and faculty involved in the co-op program.
Stay informed of industry trends, labor market needs, and best practices in experiential education.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in career services, co-op or internship program coordination, student services, or related roles.
Experience building and maintaining relationships with employers or industry partners.
Experience advising or mentoring students or young professionals in career planning is preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
Ability to guide and mentor students effectively.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
Knowledge of labor laws, workplace safety, and employment standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database management
Ability to analyze program data, prepare reports, and make recommendations for program improvements.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to mediate issues between students and employers.
Professional demeanor and ability to work with diverse student populations and industry partners.
Availability to attend employer meetings and occasional evening or off-campus events.
Passion for student success and career development.
High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
Strong English language skills; other languages is an asset.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
