Co-op Student, Mine Engineering (Cory, Saskatchewan, Canada)

Reports to the Chief Mine Engineer.

This is a 16-month Co-op that begins in May 2024.

What you will do:

  • Coordinate with various departments to conduct tests, ensure accurate readings and take samples
  • Assist the Mine Engineering Department with various projects including rock mechanics, data collection and quality control, ventilation readings, analysis and instrumentation installs, mine production data analysis, geology and rock bolt mapping
  • Be responsible for analysis and reporting
  • Prepare samples for lab analysis
  • Conduct analysis
  • Ensure proper instrumentation and equipment function
What you will bring:
  • Must be currently enrolled and completed at least 3 years of an undergraduate Mine, Geological or Civil Engineering program (or equivalent) at an accredited post-secondary institution AND returning to full-time studies after the work term.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; team player who can positively and productively implement assigned projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent results/goal orientation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
  • Thorough attention to details and ability to maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly MS Word and Excel
  • Able to work collaboratively across multiple function
