Providing invaluable work experience in a growing company, this term position will begin in January 2025 for 12 - 16 months. This is a temporary, full-time, hourly-paid position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete.This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, IT PMO. As the Co-Op, IT PMO, you will provide hands-on support to the IT Project Management Office (PMO) and financial and project management support to the IT Project Managers using a partnering approach. You will help respond to queries and provide guidance related to PMO processes, policies, and methodologies. Most of the day-to-day interaction is with others in the PMO and Project Managers.What you will do:Prepare monthly projects journal entries, including accruals and cost transfersSupport the maintenance of the IT projects database, including monthly roll forward and update activitiesSupport the coordination of monthly project status report collection from all Project ManagersSupport the consolidation of monthly status report data and analyze for quantitative and qualitative accuracyProduce monthly detailed and summary IT Project Portfolio reports for key team members within the IT organizationAssist with project initiation process - review Project Charters, approve Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) requests, set up project financials, create new entries in projects databaseAssist with project close-out process - validate closure activities have occurred, confirm financial reconciliation and outstanding invoices, ensure contracts, SOWs and POs are closed as required, perform project accounting and AFE closureCoordinate and engage in regular project reviews ensuring all costs incurred and costs to complete are accurately reflected and assist with preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts, ensuing financial forecasts are being updated on a timely basisSupport onboarding of new PMs including training on Nutrien Project Management methodologyProvide support that ensures Project Managers implement plans effectively and efficientlyEnsure all processes and controls are followed for the timely and accurate capturing of all project costsProvide ad hoc support to projects and PMs as requiredSupport the "PM Community of Practice" that develops project management practitioners and capabilities within the team and extends project management skills throughout the organizationPro-actively identify areas for improvement, potential problem areas and gaps, and provide recommendationsUnderstand and follow Corporate policies and programs, including the Company\'s Health and Safety Program, Policy and ProceduresWhat you will bring:Currently enrolled in a 2 to 4 year Finance, Accounting, or Business Management degree or equivalent related program with a graduation date of Aug 2025 or laterReady to make an impact with us?
