Are you ready to apply your knowledge in the real world? We are hiring a Co-op Corporate Accountant & Tax Position for the Fall Term (September 2024 - December 2024) within our Corporate Accounting and Tax Team.

During your time with us, you will gain exposure to what its like to be part of our Corporate Accounting and Tax team.

What youll do:
Well treat you as one of our own and your key areas of responsibility will include:

• Active participant of month end responsibilities such as closing companies, booking journal entries and variance reconciliations;
• Completing monthly bank and account reconciliations;
• Preparation of Stats Canada surveys;
• Intercompany billing;
• Canadian corporate income tax returns and other compliance filing requirements;
• Assistance with other adhoc requests from Corporate Accounting and other finance departments.

By the end of the work-term, the co-op student should have an intermediate level understanding of full cycle accounting and an understanding of Emera, and it affiliates.
