Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are ready for meal service. This position requires a passion for food, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Duties

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring vegetables, meats, and other food items. Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and preparing dishes as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment. Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Help maintain a positive work environment by communicating effectively with team members.

Skills

Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred, particularly in food preparation or cooking roles. Knowledge of food handling techniques and safety practices is essential. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation. Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members in the kitchen. A passion for the food industry and a willingness to learn new cooking techniques.
