We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the overall operation of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, culinary techniques, and kitchen operations, with a passion for delivering excellent food service. Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications and dietary requirements
Assist with menu planning and ingredient sourcing to ensure freshness and quality
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Handle food safely and hygienically in compliance with food safety standards
Support food presentation and plating to ensure appealing dish presentation
Assist with food service during busy periods, including serving customers when needed
Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling and kitchen operations
Support catering events or special functions as required
Maintain inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management
Experience
Prior experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is advantageous
Experience in fine dining or restaurant environments is preferred
Proven skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly
Knowledge of food handling procedures, safety protocols, and sanitation standards
Culinary experience including knife skills, menu planning, and food presentation is highly desirable
Familiarity with the food industry standards for quality control and customer service is beneficial
Previous experience in catering or serving roles will be considered an asset
This position requires a proactive approach to kitchen operations, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional culinary experiences. Candidates should possess a genuine interest in culinary arts and maintaining high standards of food safety.
