Various schools in Oakville, Burlington for afterschool programs Locations around Peel and Halton for school workshops

Responsibilities:



Lead engaging and hands-on cooking programs focused on introducing children to cooking basics and nutritious choices. Manage classes of up to 24 children aged 4-13 in a professional and enjoyable environment. Facilitate food management for all our weekly programs Guarantee adherence to safety procedures for allergy awareness, student safety especially in the handling of food Prepare and organize necessary program instruments and equipment. Exhibit positive and professional behaviour in interactions with parents, participants, and co-workers. Excellent communication skills Maintain cleanliness and ensure proper use of facilities and equipment. Experience with special needs students an asset

Requirements:



Previous experience in teaching or working with children in group settings. Education and/or enrolment in the field of BEd ECE or education is an asset. Certification in safe food handling and procedures (can be earned after hiring) Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Enthusiastic and outgoing personality. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Access to vehicle to transport equipment to job sites Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs First aid training, particularly for food allergies, is preferred. Successful completion of a vulnerable sector check. Reliability and strong teamwork and communication skills are mandatory.

We are a small business who builds our team members to their fullest potential. If you have skills sales marketing, client management , you may get more hours. Due to the nature of this work, there will be regular weekly hours seasonally, plus additional hours as required*

Schedule: part-time hours

average 10 hour per week minimum to start
Some hours are flexible, some are fixed. Mondays - meeting & prep Wednesdays & Thursdays- on-site 3-5:30pm 3-7+ hour shifts weekends as needed More hours in spring potential for full time in summer months

Contract length: 8 months

Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
