Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook and Baker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly within a restaurant or bakery setting. As a head cook, you will be responsible for creating a variety of African meals, western meals and baked goods, ensuring high-quality standards in food preparation and safety. Your creativity and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our kitchen and delight our customers.

Duties

Prepare and bake a wide range of products including hot meals, bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies. Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in taste and presentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards. Monitor inventory levels of cooking supplies and assist in ordering as needed. Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service. Serving up ridiculously tasty food in a fun and fresh way Cleaning the store until it shines (because anything less doesn't change the world!) Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items based on seasonal ingredients. Ensure all meals are presented attractively for display or service.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Cook or Baker or in a similar role within the food service industry. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Familiarity with various baking equipment and tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
