Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Cook, you will be responsible for creating delicious meals while adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Duties

Co-ordinate special events and also determine the size of food portions and costs. Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization. Requisition food and kitchen supplies. Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods. Inspect kitchens and food service areas. Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food. Order supplies and equipment, and also supervise kitchen staff and helpers. Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment. Clean kitchen and work areas and manage kitchen operations.

Experience

Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, particularly in roles related to food service or meal preparation. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling food in a kitchen environment. Familiarity with various cooking techniques and equipment used in restaurant settings. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
