Cooks are responsible for maintaining and setting up food production and quality control of all meat, fish, poultry, sauces, stocks, seasoning and all other food items prepared in the kitchen. Cooks are able to work at any station required within the kitchen. They use proper techniques to prepare adequate quantities to ensure successful execution of daily service.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 to 5 years culinary experience
- Strong knowledge of proper preparation techniques
- Formal culinary education an asset
- Level 1 Food Safe an asset
- First aid an asset
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment
- Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation
- Must be creative and passionate about the culinary field
- Ability to learn and adapt new techniques and styles
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must supply own knives and have excellent knife handling skills
