Cook (Temporary Full Time)

Acadian Village by Moonlight Limited Partnership is a 55 bed Personal Care Home located in Stephenville, NL. Working at the direction of the General Manager, the Cook is responsible for the preparation and delivery of all foods for residents.

Responsibilities:

Review menus, and plan production before preparing meals. Assist in creating recipes and establishing presentation specifications Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Complying with all food preparation standards, and health & safety requirements Complete daily temperature audits Delegate tasks and supervise the Cook's Assistant Complete inventory counts accurately and on time Receive, verify, and promptly store deliveries All other duties as assigned

Qualifications or Skills Required:

Cook - 1 year experience (preferred) Must have experience in large quantity food preparation, preferably in a healthcare or retirement setting Must be knowledgeable of provincial food premises regulations and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating Must have knowledge of and experience with special diets Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions Ability to communicate effectively Organized, with a strong understanding of safety and sanitation practices Comfortable meeting strict time constraints Able to lift upwards of 50lbs
