The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of 102 residents in a senior living environment. This role ensures food safety, quality, and presentation standards are maintained while creating a positive dining experience. Currently we are looking for someone who can work 11a-7pm shift.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary requirements (including therapeutic diets).
Ensure portion control and attractive presentation of meals
Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper storage, handling, and labeling.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, equipment, and work areas.
Accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions.
Communicate with residents and staff to ensure satisfaction with meals.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies.
Minimize waste and manage leftovers appropriately.
Work closely with dietary staff and servers to ensure timely meal service.
Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred.
Red seal certifictaion is an asset.
Previous experience as a cook, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and therapeutic diets.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour

Lethbridge, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
