Qualifications: Grade 12 or equivalent
Certificate of qualification in Cooks Trade recognized as a journeyman
Formal training in institutional cooking or equivalent training and experience
Duties:
Prepares and cooks meals in accordance with planned menus and requisitions.
Prepares and monitors menu items for therapeutic and textural diet orders
Quality assurance activities
Preparation of catering items
Plate meals during meal service
Practices safe handling of food as required by Public Health standards
Cleaning and sanitizing as well as operation of various kitchen equipment
