Job Description
Southbrook Retirement Residence is looking for an enthusiastic cook with experience in health care to join our amazing culinary team!
This cooking position is part time and is responsible to preparation and delivery of all foods for residents and guests.
With a schedule of these working days: Monday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday every other week must be available. Plus other possible shifts
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Reviewing menus and production sheets before preparing food Prepare foods and plates that are nutritious, well balanced and appetizing Complete daily temperature audits for fridge and freezers Prepare and serve foods for therapeutic and specialty diets Actively participate in planning/preparing special events, various occasions as well as theme meal days Attend department and facility staff meetings, training and in-services Practice and maintain cleanliness and sanitation requirements Ensure safe handling techniques of food as per regulatory requirements Ensure good personal hygiene, with a clean and neat appearance is practiced along with following dress code for the department Follows all cleaning schedules and food safety policies Promotes and maintains positive communication and relationships among management, staff and residents Performs other related duties as required Willing to work every other weekend and cover shifts during illness or vacation
Must have current Food Handlers Safety Awareness Certification
