What You'll Do
Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen at all times.
Assist the Chef in preparing a variety of meals and snacks for production and support staff.
Operate the front counter, including cash registers, debit machines, and other point-of-sale systems.
Positively interact with team members, providing friendly and professional service.
Use kitchen tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Prepare ingredients for the day's menu, ensuring materials and equipment are ready for cooking.
Manage inventory cycles and communicate shortages or issues to Head Chef.
Identify problems in kitchen operations and participate in finding solutions.
Complete daily 5S requirements to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Head Chef.
What We're Looking For
Culinary experience is considered an asset; baking experience is preferred.
Interest in pursuing a culinary apprenticeship is considered an asset.
Knowledgeable about front-of-house procedures, including cash registers, debit machines, and other customer service tools, is considered an asset, but not mandatory.
Physically capable of handling items weighing more than 40lbs, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning items.
Strong reading, clerical, and basic math skills, including the ability to read and follow recipes accurately.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
Professional and outgoing when interacting with other departments and customers.
Adaptable and able to problem-solve quickly in a dynamic environment.
Good hand-eye coordination and strong attention to detail.
Open to feedback and willing to embrace constructive criticism.
Strong knowledge of nutrition and the ability to consider nutritional value when preparing meals.
Food Safe course certification is considered a nice-to-have.
