Experienced cook required to work Monday to Friday and every second weekend, 11am-7pm .
Good knowledge of principles and quantity cooking and experience in quantity cooking of vegetables, meat, fish and poultry, etc., utilizing standardized metric recipes. Strong knowledge of food service sanitation standards, personal hygiene and safety. Assists in the cleaning of kitchen area . Performs other related duties as assigned.
Have a current Food Handler's Certification or provide proof of enrolment.
Must be of mental and physical health and enjoy working in a retirement home environment.
Be able to relate and co-operate effectively with team members and residents.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Twisting, bending, climbing, reaching, lifting and carrying as required.
Constant standing and walking.
Finger and hand dexterity.
Visual and hearing acuity required.
Tolerate heat/cold from kitchen area.
Participate in fire drills, emergency procedures and in services to familiarize self with proper procedures.
Attends training as required and follows proper handling procedures.
Salary based on experience and qualifications from $19.40 + Bonus $1.00 per hour
