Overview

We have an opening for a part time cook to join our team. Additional hours are available for those willing to do some retail sales work in our Retail Bakery located at the same address. This job may be most appealing to those who have enjoyed a Career in culinary arts and are looking for a position with less hours and responsibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry and a genuine love for food preparation. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals to our customers while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and kitchen cleanliness.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines. Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Help train new kitchen staff on food handling procedures and cooking techniques.

Experience

Previous experience in the food service industry is preferred, with a focus on food preparation and cooking. Knowledge of food safety practices, including proper food handling techniques. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management. A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that satisfy customer needs.
