Prepare food items for caf\xc3\xa9, patients, coffee shop, catering, and MOW.
Use standardized recipes according to production sheets and proper food handling techniques and sanitation guidelines.
Replenish food items during meal preparation.
Prepare food items in advance (e.g., chopping of vegetables, thawing meats, etc.).
Clean and sanitize work area and work tables.
Clean and sanitize equipment following cleaning schedules and sanitation guidelines.
Shut down equipment by turning off all equipment in use in the area (e.g., ovens, fryers, steamer, etc.).
Activate the ventilation system nightly.
Provide service to the customers in the cafeteria and catering service as required.
Test new recipes.
Prepare required items for catering functions (e.g., hors d\xe2\x80\x99oeuvres, platters, sandwiches, salads, hot foods). Set up the food and deliver it.
Check temperatures of food products prior to service to ensure appropriate serving temperatures.
Collect samples of food products that were prepared and stored in the refrigerator for auditing/testing purposes.
Perform work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all CHEO corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
