Job Description

J.D. Irving, Limited is seeking a qualified Cook at one of our remote camps in Central NB. Ideal candidates would live close to Juniper, or in the Boiestown/Doaktown areas. The ideal candidate would stay at the camp through the week. The cook will manage an efficient kitchen, order supplies and ensure our guests have access to quality, delicious, homestyle meals. Baking breads, and homemade pastries is a requirement.

Our Seasonal Cook candidate will prepare meals from scratch, along with performing light housekeep activities. Food served is top quality and must uphold high standards of cleanliness and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications:

\xc2\xb7 Food safety certification

\xc2\xb7 Successful completion of a Culinary Arts program from a recognized post-secondary institution is preferred but not required

\xc2\xb7 Class 5 driver\'s license

\xc2\xb7 Previous experience cooking in a remote location for large groups of people would be considered an asset

\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and email

Key Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.

\xc2\xb7 Prepare special dietary meals as required.

\xc2\xb7 Prepare bagged lunches for offsite consumption.

\xc2\xb7 Bake daily sweets such as pies, cookies, cakes, and squares.

\xc2\xb7 Bake daily bread products.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards are maintained.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure kitchen and storage areas are clean and organized at all times.

\xc2\xb7 Maintain public dining area in a clean and well-stocked condition.

\xc2\xb7 Raise client and staff inquiries and requests to the Lead Chef.

\xc2\xb7 Address complaints and resolve issues professionally and diplomatically.
