Universal Properties Limited, is seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a Cook to be based at 100 Midland Drive, Dieppe, NB.

Universal Properties, a division of J.D. Irving, Limited, is seeking a full-time Cook to work weekdays at their on-site cafeteria. The ideal candidate will be a professional, motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality food and ensure consistency in the preparation and presentation
• Take, cook and serve short orders quickly and efficiently
• Follow and cook recipes from scratch
• Deliver internal and external catering orders
• Assist with replenishment of kitchen supplies
• Work independently and as part of a team
• Clean equipment, surfaces and kitchen areas to standard practice expectations
• Adhere to Food Safety and WHMIS standards
• Assist the chef as requested

Qualifications:

• 3+ years in the food service industry
• High school diploma required; post-secondary education in the culinary field would be considered an asset
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Flexibility regarding hours, duties and procedures
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
• Ability to work Monday-Friday day shift, and occasional evenings that could include special events
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic working environment with multiple tasks and priorities
• A strong team player with a keen understanding of the importance of professionalism in a service-based position
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills with a pleasant and professional demeanor; helpful and flexible
• Ability to read, write and speak English at an advanced level
• Possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and own transportation
• Food Safety Certification an asset
