Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our Long Term Care Home locates 10 minutes south of Saskatoon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and safety, with a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring that our residents get the right food and right texture.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the residents' diets and care plan. Ensure all food handling and safety regulations are followed to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients as needed. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal and snack times. Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and assist with ordering as necessary. Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment regularly to uphold food safety standards. Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and food safety practices.

Experience

Previous experience as a Cook in a long term care home or similar food service environment is preferred. Knowledge of food handling, preparation techniques, and safety regulations is essential. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members. A passion for the culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow within the food industry.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
