The Poppy Residences is an independent living senior's residence located near Metrotown in Burnaby (http://thepoppyresidences.com). We are very centrally located and have easy access to transit and skytrain.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service to our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and handling, ensuring that all food safety standards are met while providing an enjoyable dining experience.

Responsibilities

Prepares and produces all meals as per the posted menu Plates the meals for dinner. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations. Handle food items safely, ensuring proper storage and labeling practices are followed. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during service hours. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages or needs to management.

Skills

Proven experience in senior living or restaurant environments is preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Familiarity with food handling and safety regulations is essential. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and residents. A passion for the food industry and providing outstanding customer service. Must complete a Criminal Record Check

Must possess a diploma from a recognized technical program for cooks
