Tandem is recruiting for a FULL -TIME POSITION as a CONVEYOR ENGINEER POSITION with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience to support our clients projects in our BURLINGTON, ON LOCATION.

Responsibilities and Duties:
The Conveyor Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the development of conveyor layout for both equipment and conveyor activities
  • Lead the review of product CAD data to develop the new / modifications required to carriers, rotating carrier, robotic transfer and fork transfer equipment.
  • Manage and produce shop fabrication details
  • Perform site visits to verify dimensional criteria and interfaces
  • Maintain, review project status with key stakeholders
Job Requirements:
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Experience in power and free, friction conveyor system, skillet, stripper system and EMS conveyor layouts.
  • Experience in conveyor component detailing, shop fabrication drawings including support steel, catwalks and guarding.
  • 3+ years of automation systems and/or project engineering experience in technical products applications (e.g. conveyor systems, electrical control systems, robotics or automation applications, packaging systems, etc.)
  • Technical knowledge of power and free conveyor, electrified monorail, friction drive, flat top conveyor, and AGV
  • Person to be capable of working with various databases and familiar with manufacturing equipment and process
  • Minimum of 3 years Automotive Assembly Project Experience
  • Person should be capable of making accurate field observations, measurements and converting information supplied from other vendors into the overall composite plant layout for Assembly
  • Prior project management experience within an automotive facility a plus
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Inventor and 3D modelling
  • Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams
  • High proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, and Word
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Highly motivated, with superb interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines, multiple priorities and fluctuating and conflicting schedules
Necessary Requirements for Applicants:
  • Hold a valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Must be able to obtain work permit in the United States, if required
  • Be willing and able to cross the border, for required support of our US or Canadian customers
