Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Controls Technician to join their team. If you enjoy collaborating with internal stakeholders and performing preventative maintenance and repairs on communication equipment, do not wait to apply - hiring is underway!

Responsibilities:

• Leverage your expertise to proficiently tackle communication-related challenges in control center operations.
• Diagnose and resolve communication problems across a diverse array of equipment, such as Ethernet bridges and switches, Ethernet and serial line extenders, Fiber Optic cables, and various other equipment.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and provide backup support for the Microwave radio system, including equipment, towers, and buildings.
• Provide backup support to the controls group and promptly respond to emergency calls.
• Conduct programming and preventative maintenance tasks on assigned equipment.
• Collaborate with the Engineering department in the design and commissioning of new equipment.
• Consult on solutions for future system expansion needs as the company grows.

Requirements:

• Have a technical Diploma in Computer Science, Technology, or Networks or possess a Trades Certification in Instrumentation/Electrical.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Control Systems or similar IT-related experience.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot PC issues to get the software running again.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new concepts, handle multiple tasks, and effectively prioritize work.
• Have a valid Class 5 driver's license and have a clean driving abstract.
