We are currently seeking a

Control Systems Designer/Programmer

to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in controls engineering and a passion for automation.

Role Overview:



This is a full-time, on-site role located in Puslinch, ON. As a

Controls Systems Designer/Programmer

, you will design and program control systems for custom industrial automation equipment. You'll work hands-on with PLCs, robotics, vision systems, and safety systems while collaborating across disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:



Design, develop, implement, document and troubleshoot complete control system programs for custom automated equipment. Program control systems using PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, robots, safety systems, and vision/data acquisition systems Design of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, Profinet, DeviceNet, Profibus, RS-232) Program and develop robot applications (Fanuc, ABB, Denso, Motoman, etc.) Configure AC/DC drives and servo motion systems Machine vision design (Cognex, Keyence, Banner, Omron) Design of SCADA systems using Ignition Support machine start-ups, debugging, safety checks, and robot teaching Troubleshoot electrical controls and mechanical systems Initiate preliminary PHSR's with Safety Engineers as required Complete system documentation including drawing updates, operation manuals, and electronic settings Provide customer support, training and service at client sites (travel is required)

Qualifications & Experience:



Degree or diploma in Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Robotics, or a related field 4+ years of experience in system/controls design and integration of factory automation Strong knowledge of PLC's, HMIs, servos, VFDs, robotics, vision systems and safety systems Familiarity with design standards (CE, CSA, NFPA, SEMI, EN, etc.) Solid foundation in electrical design (power calculations, wiring, fuse sizing and component selection) Experience with Ignition SCADA (certification an asset) Excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain professional under pressure Strong organizational skills, problem solving ability and motivation to stay current with technology Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary environment Must be legally able to travel to and work in the United States and Mexico for business purposes Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required
