Controls Designer

to join ourteam.

Job Summary:



The Controls Designer assists in the development automation solutions by contributing to machine concepts, designing of control systems, and process development. The electrical assignments include developing standard costs for electrical panels, designing schematics, specifying and ordering material associated with schematics, and continuous development for the Electrical team.

The responsibilities for the Controls Designer will include:



Provide general input and guidance to all Controls team staff. Attend in all design reviews, wrap-up meetings, kick-offs, and any other project-related meetings. Design and develop electrical and controls requirements for turnkey solutions. Work with members of the Electrical, Controls and Design, and Assembly to continuously improve methods and tools for integrating electrical design to enhance safety and functionality and to ensure that cost and schedule budgets are adhered to or improved upon. Ensure scheduled milestones relating to electrical design and integration are achieved. Collaborate with Electrical Team Lead to set goals and manage project performance. Review and evaluate new electrical related products to provide a cost effective and up-to-date controls solution. Work with customers, project managers, designers, assemblers, and controls to solve problems and provide the customer with a solution that fulfills their requirements. Routinely develop an electrical design package, including detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring, electrical components, and bill of materials on time and on budget. Give and take direction as necessary. Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures established by the Company. Development and troubleshooting of electrical and software controls systems for control of custom automation equipment.

Education, Skills and Job Requirements:



Minimum of 5 years of experience in a controls/electrical environment. Minimum of 4 years of experience with SolidWorks Electrical. Bachelor's degree or college diploma in electrical engineering, controls engineering, or robotics and automation. Must demonstrate a strong ability to conceptualize and create solutions for complex design requirements. Must have strong written and oral communication abilities. Able to work with minimal supervision. Effective communicator both orally and in writing. A demonstrated understanding of electrical panel building, field wiring, safety systems, robotics, and machine operation with hands-on experience is desirable.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
