Manages controlling operations, i.e. budgeting, analyzing, forecasting and reporting of financial KPI and supports accountable management for an assigned business organization.
This is a role is well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Controlling Manager in the Diagnostics business, you will be responsible for:
People Leadership:
Hiring, training, motivating, providing direction, support, mentorship, coaching and career development
Reviewing work of the team and providing guidance to the team
Ensuring the team has booked all orders and revenues, and billed in a timely fashion to the customer
Providing guidance on special terms in the negotiation that are unique to the customer Creating efficiency by working with IT to automate processes or lead the discussion for reports through digitalization initiatives for the respective team(s)
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual Cash Flow and Balance Sheet Budgeting and forecasting (FC) processes for DX Updating Cash Flow FC and providing commentary on variances to NAM HQ
Lead the annual New Orders Budgeting and FC processes; review monthly Actual to Budget and provide commentary to Head of Finance related to risk assessment against budget/FC objectives
Work with functional management (Business/Marketing Managers, Sales, Service and technical operations) to define specific functional deliverables to ensure a functionally integrated budget process for Revenue
Oversee whole P&L ensuring data and forecast accuracy with proactive investigations on deviations from budget/FC and recommendations on profitable growth
Prepare budget/FC presentations for Headquarters
Financial Reporting and Analyses:
Manage month end and quarter end close for the DX business ensuring integrity of books and records in accordance with accounting principles, analyses are performed on a timely basis, and appropriate controls are in place for financial reporting in line with RIC requirements.
Handle all month-end closing topics related to freight costs, salary and vacation accruals, group benefits costs, bonus calculation and AR reserve, among others.
Review account reconciliations that have been prepared by the team before submission to Head of Finance
Manage DX specific cost allocation cycles in collaboration with NAM Accounting and local Business Performance Controlling (BPC) teams.
Ensure transparency for COGS/SG&A/OCOGS with quality analyses to drive business decisions
Oversee monthly cost center spend with respective managers, ensuring expenses are in line with approved budget
Manage all FC reporting tools (e.g.: JEDOX, HERA and ESPRIT) and be responsible for data submissions, eg. monthly FC to HQ
Support all headcount data and transparency for actuals and forecast to facilitate decision making processes.
Prepare monthly business review presentations Review CPR contracts and execute next action steps to ensure minimal to zero wastage from customers
Manage internal and external auditors' inquiries and audits Implement new and/or changes in accounting policies/business processes that impact reporting
Business Support:
Approve customer deals (DXCON/Shareville) and provide guidance to Sales & Marketing as needed
Support Sales team on Terms & Conditions negotiations, approving customer prices that are outside of price lists, and any other matters with the successful signoff from the customer
Support CPR process
Support price harmonization process
Support Sales & Marketing on new product introductions, evaluations, and ROI analysis Assist in the day- to-day Operations of the DX business by working with various functional teams on resolving issues
Backup for Head of Finance DX Canada.
Required qualifications and skills:
Chartered Professional Accounting designation
Bachelor of Commerce or similar university degree
8+ years of financial experience in a large matrix company
Demonstrated experience with process efficiency & implementation, including digitalization and automation
Demonstrated experience with forecasting and results reporting
