as a

Controller.




We are looking for an individual who is reliable, honest, organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong desire to succeed.


Here's What you'll deliver:


Post new retail and fleet deals

Post invoices

Reconcile statements

Disburse cheques

Ability to produce and analyze financial statements

Prepare accounts for payments & verify data in system

Follow up on past due accounts and returned checks

Must have hands-on experience with accounts payable

Payroll including preparation sales personnel commissions and verifying chits against schedules

Floor plan payout of units

Booking/tracking and managing of warranty claims

Oversee or perform tasks to ensure the financial functions are reconciled monthly including (but not limited to): cash, accounts receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payables, manufacturer statements, payroll administration, vehicle deal commissioning, intercompany accounts, etc.

Meeting all monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines as required by Head Office and the Dealer Principal/GM's including monthly reconciliations, monthly and quarterly reporting to Head Office, covenant calculations, Concept reporting, financial analysis, year-end reporting, etc.

Review and maintain all contracts with sister companies, Bell, utility companies, etc.

Ensure all tax requirements are handled properly

Management of dealership accounting staff including assistant controllers, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, deal clerks, etc.

Other responsibilities include coach, mentor and train accounting staff members, hiring/termination of accounting or HR employees, contract tracking and analysis, legal, OEM and insurance requirements are met, liaise with head office staff and all senior members of management

Completing analysis or requests made by the Dealer Principal or General Manager

What you'll need to succeed:


Must have a minimum of 5 years accounting experience within an automotive dealership

Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

Are a self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team

Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in Accounting or equivalent

Have AR/AP experience in automotive dealership

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required

Previous car dealership accounting experience considered an asset

Strong knowledge of Reynolds or ADP is considered an asset

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office required
