Utilize your skills in the Wholesale Distribution industry as a Controller for a renowned company for a position available through Robert Half. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. Responsibilities

- Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

- Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

- Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

- Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

- Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

- Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

- Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

- Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

- Great attention to detail

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

- Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

- The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

- Lease Accounting experience

- Knowledge of Rebates

- Well-founded grasp of Monthly Financial Reporting

- Ability to Prepare Budgets

- Some knowledge of Corporate Income Tax

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
