Title: Financial Controller Summary: Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be directly involved in all accounting and financial activities of the Whistler, British Columbia division, including financial policies, practices, and controls. You will work directly with management on business decisions, and guide and inspire a team of three (3) experienced accountants who are eager to learn and develop their skills. Work schedule adapted to Pacific hours (10am to 6pm, Eastern time).

OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise, guide, support and develop the accounting team;
  • Lead the implementation of the best practices within the department;
  • Participate in decisions requiring your expertise and analysis of financial information and propose solutions to maintain and develop business profitability;
  • Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting-related operational functions;
  • Actively contribute to and manage the accumulation and reconciliation of all financial data required to accurately account for business results;
  • Present financial results and variance analyses according to requested deadlines;
  • Ensure the subsidiary\'s forecasting and budgeting processes within the framework of the Group\'s budgeting process to guarantee compliance with deadlines, procedures and deliverables;
  • In collaboration with managers, ensure monthly monitoring of budgets and preparation of budget forecasts;
  • Supervise the management of the treasury;
  • Monitor compliance with internal controls and policies, and implement corrective measures as required;
  • With the contribution of the CFO, you will be responsible for the development of accounting policies, procedures, and controls;
  • Develop, maintain and nurture good relationships with auditors and financial institutions;
  • Foster a positive, harmonious, and professional work environment.

REQUIRED PROFILE:
  • Degree in professional accounting CPA;
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management;
  • Experience in a team management role;
  • Experience in managing remote subsidiaries (an asset);
  • Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are vital for this position;
  • Experience in overseeing audits performed by external audit firms (an asset);
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

LANGUAGES

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in English as this role serves an English-speaking team.
