Job Description

:
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Vancouver, British Columbia. This is a 14-month opportunity to lead and support a dynamic team while ensuring the smooth execution of accounting, treasury and banking functions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in financial reporting and project-based operations.
Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for all transactional activity, managing end to end accounting duties, including AP, Billings, and Journal Entries.
  • Prepare monthly financial and management reporting, working closely with the FP& A team on the final preparation of such information.
  • Coordinate and manage 3 audits liaising with 2 Public Practice firms.
  • Support the utilization and standardization of their new ERP System.
  • Ensure timely and accurate quarterly covenant reporting.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports for 3 different banks.
  • Manage their weekly short-term cash forecasting process.
  • Facilitate the monthly debt-funding draw, utilizing revolving credit lines to support working capital for their projects.
  • Work closely with their Project Accountant, overseeing their work as 1 of your direct reports.
  • Identify and coordinate month end close business process improvement projects.
  • Coordinate with the regulatory team to ensure alignment on overlapping objectives.
Requirements:
We are requiring a Canadian CPA designated professional with experience as a Controller or an equitable position located in Canada. We are also seeking individuals who match the following requirements and preferences:
  • Proficiency in Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE).
  • Strong knowledge of ERP implementations, having worked through at least 1 transition before.
  • Experience seeking business process improvement, in particular around the month end close process.
  • Experience leading and managing accounting teams.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage treasury functions and banking operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
