The controller will be responsible for overseeing Silver Cross stores (4), Silver Cross Franchising (parent and Franchisee interface), and Silver Cross Automotive financial reporting. The controller serves as business partner with the two division managers and the general manager to contribute to the success of the business. This includes process improvement, financial controls, sales and profitability reporting, group communications for results and mentoring staff to improve their financial and business acumen.
As part of Savaria Corporation (TSX:SIS), the successful candidate has experience with reporting in a publicly traded company. This job requires in-office presence (4 days a week) at our division head office at 14 Good mark Place in Etobicok e.

Responsibilities • Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in accordance with IFRS standards including variance analysis, commentary and KPIs
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and inventory with 3 direct reports
• Publishing sales and gross profit reports to guide sales management on performance and success
• Consults with division managers on day-to-day business tactics and longer term strategy including individual performance of staff, inventory and fixed asset purchases and overall operations decisions
• Coordinates, prepares, and reports in a consolidation software the requested financial and non-financial information
• Prepare the annual budget and forecasts
• Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes
• Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax compliance
• Focused management of cashflows and working capital
• Manages and motivates staff (including hiring, terminations, performance management, etc.)
• Effective management of auditors
• Ensure that internal control systems and processes are best practice, effective, documented and operating as designed
• Ensure that corporate wide accounting policies and procedure are implemented and followed

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
• A minimum of 5-8 years of successful and progressive experience in a similar role
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced, decentralized environment
• Meets commitments for critical, set and tight deadlines
• Demonstrates attention to detail
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and QuickBooks is mandatory
• Self-starter with high level of accountability who needs minimal supervision
• Ability to effectively present information to top management
• Must have the highest professional and personal standards, unquestioned integrity and business ethics.
