Jacob Bros Construction is immediately hiring a Controllerto support the Accounting & Finance team at our head office in South Surrey, BC.



Please note this position is 100% office based.

Responsibilities:

Reports to the CFO; supervises and directs Accounting & Finance Team Leads Monthly Job Cost Reviews with Project Managers Directs procedures and systems necessary for the maintenance of proper records and adequate accounting controls and services Prepares monthly financial statements for each corporate entity Manages analysis of operating companies Prepares year-end financial statements in partnership with CFO and external accountants Monitors and controls Capital Asset Accounting Maintains Chart of Accounts, G/L, sub-ledgers, and inter-company reconciliations Maintains Sage Accounting System Ensures compliance required by regulatory agencies including GST, PST, Corp Tax etc. Oversees hourly employee payroll, including reconciliation of WCB and T4's Processes salaried employee payroll Reviews and streamlines work processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in conjunction with the CFO Oversees filing systems; both electronic and hard copy Special projects and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required

Requirements:

Minimum five (5)+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience in a medium size private enterprise or similar environment Proven management and supervisory skills are required Proven track record of forming positive working relationships with every level in the organization Professional accounting designation or pending completion required Construction or related industry experience strongly preferred
