The Opportunity

As Controller, you are an experienced, detail-oriented financial leader responsible for overseeing the financial systems of a boutique hotel property or Inn. You are proficient in financial reporting, compliance, and analysis and provide strategic insight to support the Inn's financial growth. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of hospitality financial management. The Controller plays a critical role in driving financial performance and ensuring the long-term success of the organization.

What You'll Do

In collaboration with the CFO and operations teams, monitor revenue, expenses, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize financial performance.

Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data through reconciliation and review processes.

Lead the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial projections in collaboration with department leads.

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

Act as a key advisor to senior Leadership on financial matters affecting financial performance.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior Leadership to inform strategic decision-making.

Monitor cash flow ensuring financial stability of the Inn.

Identify, recommend, and implement cost-control measures in collaboration with operational teams to improve profitability without compromising service quality.

When required, participate in accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliation.

In collaboration with operational leads, manage purchasing and inventory control processes to optimize expenditures.

Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring full transparency and compliance.

Collaborate with operation teams to ensure financial discipline across SSEI operations.

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with accounting and hotel industry standards.

Maintain compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and Organization policies.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality industry.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred).

Strong knowledge of hotel financial reporting systems (e.g., Opera, SAP, NetSuite, or similar).

Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fluid, dynamic, environment.

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
