We're looking for a strategic and experienced Controller to join our team in Saskatoon, SK. As a key leader in our finance department, you will be instrumental in overseeing financial operations and contributing to the sustained growth of our organization. Responsibilities will include:

Providing strong leadership and oversight for the entire finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions, ensuring efficient and accurate operations. Managing and coordinating the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Developing and maintaining robust internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity. Leading the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Monitoring financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and trends, and reporting findings to senior management. Collaborating closely with project teams and the leadership team to regularly review project financials, including cost-to-complete, earned value, and profitability, providing strategic insights and recommendations. Managing cash flow effectively, including projections, optimizing working capital, and ensuring liquidity. Coordinating and managing annual audits with external auditors, ensuring timely completion and compliance. Ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations (GST, PST, corporate income tax, etc.) and other statutory requirements. Providing financial analysis and support for project costing, profitability analysis, and new business initiatives. Mentoring and developing the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Implementing and optimizing financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities. Liaising with banks, legal counsel, and other external stakeholders as required.
We Require:

Certified Professional Accounting designation (CPA). 5+ years of progressive experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller, with a significant portion of that experience within the construction industry. Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, percentage of completion method, and project costing. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization.
