What You\'ll Be Doing The Controller is responsible for overseeing the business\xe2\x80\x99s day-to-day financial operations, analyzes and develops financial information, and is the owner of the financial close process. The Controller monitor\xe2\x80\x99s the business\xe2\x80\x99s financial health by developing, implementing, and maintaining financial controls and guidelines. This is performed through:
Promotional materials of cash value (i.e. preloaded VISA cards)
Financial Oversight
Financial strategies
Financial Planning
Budget preparations and forecasting
Royalty Reporting
Financial Reporting
Loans and grants
Equity management
Financial Risk and mitigation strategies
Financial system(s) management
Your Experience Applied Biological Materials team members have wide and varied backgrounds. Overall, we find people who are successful in this role have the following:
Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Management Accountant (CMA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Financial Controller designations highly preferred
Minimum of five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in auditing or cost control
Minimum of two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a management or leadership capacity
Strong working knowledge of detail financial data analysis
Strong competency in financial management software
Strong understanding of Canadian tax system, US and/or Europe an asset
Master of Business Administration an asset
