Job Description

Position: Controller - Real Estate
Location: villerayReporting to the President and Financial Officer, the Controller will assume a strategic role in the overall management of the multiple entities within the company. The Controller will play an operational role within its team to maintain sound financial management and will adopt the primary quotidian responsibilities of planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. In addition, as the managed properties are privately-owned by Canadian and/or American companies, the Controller will have to ensure compliance with the accounting and tax rules in force and will provide assistance in the execution of internal controls. The Controller will be responsible for the reliability and accuracy of all accounting information for each of the properties under their management.Responsibilities:- Analyze variances in monthly capital, operational and cash budgets
- Collect the financial information necessary for sound management
- Coordinate annual internal and external audits
- Coordinate treasury operations
- Direct and oversee the work of the team to ensure the production of monthly financial reports
- Ensure that monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines are respected
- Direct and oversee the work of the receivables and payables team
- Review, analyze and approve financial statements (approval of journal entries, review of balance sheet items and variance analysis of results)Qualifications:- At least 5 years in accounting, and real estate mandatory
- CPA
- Excellent priority management
- Ability to handle unforeseen or complex situations
