Our independently owned, Canadian wholesale/distribution client is looking for their next Controller to be part of their office just outside of Brantford. This individual should be someone who will be excited about the growth trajectory of the company in coming years. They will work closely with the Owner and other Senior Management in developing financial projects to assist that growth. With 2 direct reports, this position will mange the company\'s financial operations and be a key member of thePlease note: this position requires you to be located in Ontario, in the local area, as this is an on-site position.What our client has to offer:

  • Manage all aspects of the company\'s financial operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and GL
  • Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure completeness of financial data
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Develop and monitor budgets, providing analysis and recommendations to management
  • Conduct regular account analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures and systems of internal controls
  • Work cross-functionally to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making processes
  • Manage a team of accounting professionals, providing training and development opportunities and track KPI\'s
  • Prepare and review year-end working papers external parties
  • Analyze capital investment decisions for proposed expenditures
  • External stakeholder management - including advisors, clients, vendors and bankers
Qualifications:
  • CPA preferred, with 5+ years accounting experience in a leadership type role
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team
  • Someone excited and committed to helping the company grow
  • Manufacturing and distribution experience an asset
