Job #4803 - Roll up your sleeves and dive in as the Controller with this stable, Ottawa-based company on a full-time, permanent basis! In this role you will be responsible for managing the financial operations for multiple properties, ensuring accuracy in the accounting records, and assisting with financial reporting requirements. Reporting to the CFO, you will quickly become a valued member of the management team, by providing meaningful analysis and feedback to support operational decision-making. The main responsibilities include:

• Manage the assigned properties by keeping up-to-date general ledgers and completing detailed reconciliations
• Ensure that rent roll is processed, monthly tenant charges are captured, and resolve any discrepancies within tenant accounts
• Process invoices, payments, and expense allocations
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Monitor property expenses and variances against budgeted amounts
• Provide financial analysis to support business decision-making
• Prepare and file property tax, sales tax, and other regulatory reports
• Support external audits and financial reviews

• Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting required
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive work experience in accounting
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Excel

Definite Assets (nice to have):

• CPA designation is considered an asset
• Experience in real estate or property management strongly preferred
• Previous Yardi system experience
